Day Hike

We drove into Rocky Mountain National Park today for a day hike of the Twin Sisters Peak. It was a beautiful drive, and I wish I had photos of the interesting geological formations that marked the twisted mountain pass that led us to the trail-head. But I don't. I do have photos of M though, and those are always great. Here she is eating corn at dinner:

Back to the hike: it was a moderately difficult, with 2,400 feet in elevation gain and 3.7 miles one way.

The hike took us above the treeline at about 3 miles in--at that point at about 11,000 feet.

At the top, we had a great view of Long's Peak, a popular 14'er that we just cannot climb with the baby. Still has snow!

Here is one of me, near the top. The top-top was too dangerous for Mommy, Daddy and baby M.

Someone offered to take our family photo, but he shot a movie instead:

M was a trooper, and feel asleep on the way down the mountain.

We hope you had a wonderful Labor Day too!
