A few weeks ago, M started rolling over. She now spends most of her time on her tummy trying to crawl. Her determination is admirable, but crawling is (thankfully) a ways off. Her new-found freedom of movement has caused us some trouble though. Gone are the days where we can leave her playing happily on a blanket or in her crib. In her crib, she rolls over and gets her arms and legs stuck in the slats. As you can see in this picture, she is also trying to escape.
Since bumpers are a suffocation risk, we bought a mesh pad to go around the crib to prevent her from getting stuck between the bars. Thanks Joc and Jenn for registering for this for your little one—I had never seen it before and when I was scoping out what to get your baby, we bought the mesh screen for M. It should be coming in the mail today—let's hope it works!
Glad we could help!
ReplyDeleteYou'll have to take a picture of it on the crib... I caught grief from my co-workers who all use bumpers with their kids and laughed when I said we registered for the mesh ones, since regular bumpers are a huge SIDS risk... I think it's a little of the, "it'll never happen to my kid" thing. Anxious to see them in action!
