Hiking the AT

We visited Amicalola Falls today, at the southern end of the 2,175 mile Appalachian Trail. It was a beautiful walk, with a nice lunch at the top of the mountain.

M has loved all of the fresh air. Surprisingly, she also loves Peanut, Aunt Diane's dog. 

Tomorrow we are off to a winery, and plan to spend more time enjoying the wonderful spring weather.

Play Date

We had a fantastic day today visiting with cousins Jack and Dean. M and Dean hit it off right away--they are only nine months apart.

M also found a new toy to love at Christie and Carols' house. I wish I could turn this video around so you could get the full effect of her as a jumping bean. 

We owe a big "Thanks!" to Chris for hosting us all day, and we are looking forward to spending a full week with the Medina's at U-Stick in July. 

80 Degrees

It was a beautiful day today in Big Canoe, GA. We took a nice walk through the foothills, where it was apparent that spring has arrived.

Then, we headed to neighboring Ellijay for BBQ dinner. The place was decorated with named pigs, and the one outside the door said "Baby Buster," and we had to take a photo because Grandpa Schmieder calls M "Buster" sometimes. 

We just are watching women's NCAA now, and waiting to talk to Rome, who has spent the weekend cleaning our new home. We are excited to get to Denver to be with him!

In Atlanta

We just landed in Atlanta, and now it is definately time for bed!

Baby Sit-Ups

We call this a baby sit-up, where M tries to sit up without using her arms. Needless to say, not very successful. 

Moving Day

Tomorrow is moving day. Romeo, with the help of Grandpa Hereau, Josh, and neighbor Joe, will be packing our belongings in a truck, with Rome and cousin Danny driving it to Denver on Friday. Poor M, she will miss all of the boxes that she loves so much.

We are tired of living this way, however, and are looking forward to settling in our new home. M and I are off to Georgia first, and will not arrive in Denver until April 11. This leaves Romeo enough time to unpack and get organized! 

Home!

We made it back to Chicago safe and sound! It is good to be home, even if only for a few days.

A Nice Walk

Now that I am (finally) done with my business in DC, my mom, M and I spent the day together enjoying the cherry blossom festival. It was unseasonably cold, but still a beautiful day. 

M was asleep when we arrived at the tidal basin, but woke up while we were still there so don't worry--she did not miss it all! 

That's me, by the way, pushing M in the stroller. I think this is my first appearance on the blog.

Thanks Grandma!

Grandma Schmieder heads back to Michigan today, and M and I return to Chicago tomorrow. We had such a great week, and cannot thank Grandma enough for helping us out.
