The Disease Spreads

I have been sick for the past two days. M is on the mend, though she is still speckled with hives. Romeo stayed home from work today to watch the baby, and here is a short video he took today. It is of M crawling through the pillow fort he built for her.

The Patient

We left Granby early this morning at the advice of the pediatrician so that M could be checked out. Over night, she developed a head to toe rash--it literally covers her whole body, from her scalp to the bottoms of her feet. If you expand these photos, you can see the spots on her face.

The doctor suspects the rash is an allergic reaction to the amoxicillin that M has been taking to treat her ear infection. Her ear infection has yet to clear up, hence the ongoing fever. So she was prescribed a new antibiotic and we spent the day resting.

I snapped these photos during one of her rare awake times today. She is still happy, but low on energy. Thankfully, she is not bothered by the rash and the rash should be gone in a few days. We have a follow-up appointment on Thursday, and until then we will be babying our baby, trying to get her healthy and well.

Rocky Mountain High

Another beautiful day in the mountains, about 80 degrees and sunny. In the morning, M and I stayed and played at Aunt Molly and Uncle Robb's house while the rest of the crew went mountain biking. In the afternoon, we went hiking through a beautiful forest of Aspens.

Once we were out of the woods, the view was even more spectacular.

Unfortunately, when we got back M had a fever (again) and she is now sleeping and hopefully recovering (again).

In the Mountians

We are in Grandby for the weekend, out of hot, hot Denver and enjoying the company and great views.

Hair

M's hair is getting long-see the bangs?

So I put in a bow today.

Not quite right, right? Well, then M had a nap and her hair went into a mohawk.

Can you hear M asking when she sees these photos later in life: Why? Why Mom?

Out to Dinner

We had a nice dinner in Wash Park tonight. We sat outside, where M enjoyed her broccoli and books.

Happy Father's Day

We celebrated Rome's first Father's Day today, and it was spectacular! We slept in, had a nice breakfast, and then went to Coors Field to watch the Tigers beat the Rockies :)

We were in good company, joined by Aunt Molly, Uncle Robb, Nick, Andy, Danielle, Erin and Nate.

This was M's first baseball game, and she was fantastic all day. She ate hot dog, waved at people in the stands, and spent lots of QT with her Daddy.

Happy Father's Day to M's Grandpa's too, and all of the other wonderful fathers out there! I hope your day was as amazing as ours.

Ear Infection

We took M to the doctor today and she was diagnosed with an ear infection. So she is on antibiotics, but otherwise life is going on as normal. We went hiking today with Andy and Danielle, had lunch in Boulder, and then went shopping. Tonight we went out for ice cream and played with toys. Tomorrow, for Father's Day, we are headed to Coors field to watch the Tigers play the Rockies.

Still a Little Under the Weather

We thought M was all better and over this cold, but today she was tired and had a slight fever.

She was better by the evening and if she is well tomorrow, we will be spending the day outside enjoying the sunshine.

Splish Splash!

We went to the pool today for a few hours. Danielle is a former infant swim teacher and she showed M how to float on her back and blow bubbles in the water. We stayed in the kiddie pool, so there was no underwater dunking today. Maybe next time...

Cook Out

We went to Andy and Danielle's tonight to have dinner with them, Nate, Erin and Uncle Steve (who was in town for business). M looks unsure of the porch swing in this photo, but really she was trying to stand up and did not want to sit. We let her down soon after this picture was taken, and she had three hours of playtime in their backyard.

Sick Day

You might not know it from this photo, but M has a cold. It started on Saturday, was bad on Sunday, and a bit worse today. She has a very runny nose, a fever that just won't quit, and swollen, watery eyes. She slept most of the day today, but woke up a few times to play.

So long as she stays in good spirits and the fever does not last longer than five days, there is no need to go to the doctor (says the doctor, we did call today). But we are hoping her recovery is a bit more speedy than that.

Play-date and Party

Yesterday M had a play date with baby Will, son of friends Jeremy and Megan. The kids we so cute together, and we had a great visit.

Today is Molly's graduation party, where we are (currently!) celebrating her exit from high school and new chapter as a MSU Spartan.

Playing in the Park

We went to the park today in Naperville with Grandma Hereau and cousin Braden. We had a great time, and M is now napping, resting up for more family fun tonight.

Sparty

This is Sparty, M's new best friend. They are hilarious together and she just loves him, even when he licks the leftover dinner from her face.

Remember When M Was This Small?

We are in Chicago, and I worked at the office all day while M played with Grandma and Grandpa Hereau. After work, I went to their house for a nice dinner with the rest of the Hereau family. After dinner, Grandpa Hereau was showing me some photos of M that he had on his iPhone. And she was so small! I can barely remember her that teeny tiny. And since today was so busy and ANOTHER day without new photos, I thought I would remind all of you how much my sweet M has grown in just the last few months. The photo above was taken in January. This photo was taken when she was just days old:

And a few weeks old:

My how she has grown!

Some of the Week's Best That You Have Not Seen

Much to my surprise, we did not take any photos today! So here are some from this week that did not make the first cut:
